This isn't a typical FL returns to abusive ML story. After about the first third, she is done with him. He tells her that seeing her jump off the cliff made him realize he loved her (yeah, we all laughed), and she doesn't give a damn. SPOILERS
The rest of the drama follows his efforts to convince her he is sincere and her fluctuations between tentatively trusting him, believing he loves the obligatory childhood green tea, and wanting to escape.. He seems to think becoming emperor is the way to give her the best life, so he seizes the throne, forces her to become his queen, and tries to hold her tight in the nightmare that is the harem. While I'm frustrated by both of them, I appreciated the different scenario, his evolution, and her happy ending. It's most enjoyable if you skip the first part and start at the cliff jump.
