On the one hand I liked it. The ML was all about the FL from the get go, and he had no problem letting her know it. (That kiss in the first few minutes! 🤭) Poor girl wasn’t exactly sure what was going on, but she knew he was into her and he was only holding back because of her wishes. He supported her and she leaned on him when needed. It was an enjoyable relationship dynamic to watch!
On the other hand…
Oh the dude. 🙄 He went too far. Things were happening and instead of trusting her and making her part of the plan, he kept her in the dark and let her be hurt. Not only “let”, but he purposely acted in a way that he knew would hurt her. Not cool dude, not cool. 🙅🏼♀️
He totally double whammy-ed her! Betrayal or lack of trust (which is actually another betrayal). The only thing that kept it from totally killing it for me was that WE could see that he was acting as part of a plan, so he wasn’t a total scumbag. But it was so sad that she didn’t know. I kept imagining myself in her place, only knowing what she knew, and how devastated I would feel. I was so proud of her for staying strong and keeping it together as much as she did.
In the end, I wish they had added like another 5 minutes, where the ML had to put in the effort and work to get her back. She so deserved it after everything that he put her through. And we deserved it too! 😉
Overall, I did actually like this and I will most likely watch it again. Probably because it was so well acted and the FL wasn’t a doormat. (And the smoking hot chemistry really helped! 🤗) I just wish the ML was a little less of a bonehead! 😜
