She has self-respect and sets healthy boundaries and doesn't settle for less than she deserves. Kudos to the writers for portraying the women of today in a positive light.
As for Mr. sort of scumbag, while he never physically cheated, his withholding of love and emotions tore his marriage apart. Like water wearing out a stone, neglect will do the same to the human heart. When he finally realized it, he was a day late and a dollar short. A better man came along to support this lovely woman. Am I sad that she didn't go with the SML? Yes and no. She put herself first and after that disastrous relationship, what sane woman would want to jump into a new one. Because he was always there to helping/fixing/supporting her in every way without ever pushing himself on her, my hope would be that she'll get to know him more and give him the chance he deserves to woo her. She set her boundaries and he respected her decision. You know no matter what he'll continue to watch out for her best interest and support her for life because he does love her. So I didn't mind the ending.
Yay! 🎉 She chose herself!!!!! What a great show! And best of all she wasn’t all “I want to handle it myself” 🙄 and then stupidly blundering about and needing to be saved because of her own dumb decisions 🤦🏼♀️. She accepted and asked for help when she needed it, while still working to be her best self and independent. To me this showed real strength.
And for once I was actually torn between the two dudes. She’d have a scene with one, and I’d think- ok, she should pick him. Then she’d have a scene with the other and I’d find myself thinking the exact same thing about him. They did an excellent job of keeping me conflicted, but I’m very satisfied with the ending we got! 😜
