Why do we think HYBE has spread themselves too thin? Would we say the same about Samsung and all the product lines that they are in to?
RM should have had a nomination.
Bang PD said that they needed to drop the K from the album and Bang got a lot of hate for that, but this was months before RM released his album. Are we going to call V's Christmas song kpop? It's ridiculous. They have to adopt a new way to identify if they are going to do music that is not kpop and push it in the western market. But then look at Domodachi. Global artist category doesnt credit the genre.l, but RM deserved so much. Best Breakout Album, etc.
I have to somewhat disagree on the utube creators. Only for the fact that some, not all, come to a point of becoming a fan and then come to the understanding of their artistry. Yes, some are fake or brash. i will give them a shot and if they continue being closed minded i block their channel.
What you talked about at 54:01 – 58:16 (Bringing back substance into music) is so accurate, especially at this time when grammy nominations are being announced. If you saw the comments by Armys in the Grammy recording Academy video, you will see how so many have no clue WHY they think their fav should have been nominated. All they kept repeating over again is how "that song broke so many records, sold the most, most streams, most popular" but they couldn't talk about the quality of the music, the creativity, the substance etc. It was all about the – breaking records – only. I think we put too much weight on quantities and not quality.
So your advice about seeking out creators who do their research and talk about the creative substance of BTS music has really resonated with me bcs these are the channels that I'm now interested in. I find them more appealing. Thanks for this video.
in Europe, i didn't even find tv station that would broadcast grammys, its really not a thing in Germany, France, Italy, Spain and and and…. it probably changed over years.
The Grammys are not good enough for BTS in my opinion. Plus, our boys need to stay as far away from that corrupt bunch as they can.

They are planning a KPOP Grammy right…. They aren't going to worry about KPOP anymore moving forward. These two years in a row show they have drawn a line in the sand. I wonder what the impact will be on Asian American artists like Audrey Nuna… She has incredible work and gets very little recognition.

Isn't it weird? RM's music lost is winning prizes in independent areas and festivals but Grammy couldn't find it worthy of even nomination?
They again proved that western music industry just wanted to use BTS as a one time thing and bait.

RM's album was critically acclaimed. It deserved honor.
The grammys isn't just about winning the award or going to the show it's what it represents and aftermath. Winning a grammy is a boost critics wise but most importantly opens doors PR wise, opens collaborations and inside the industry more producers, money, deals etc. People are missing the BUSINESS aspect of the industry. It's not about legotimizing their music or kpop. It's expanding their brand globally whether you guys like the grammys or not. And what goes on in the industry has been around since 30s and 40s. Nothing new.
The Grammys???? So what if they are snubbed? Look, I think Asians SHOULD STOP asking for white people's approval. The Grammys are created by White people. The Melon Awards ARE EQUAL to the Grammys. It looks like you are putting the Grammys on a pedestal and think Grammys are better than any Asian award show. In BTS song "Yet To Come" they reflected award shows are nice, but they're not important. The most important thing for BTS is to make ARMY happy and to have a journey with us, the ARMY to make our life better and so we can make BTS grow and be better humans too. Be proud that you have a brown skin, kayumanggi. Be proud that you are Asian and be proud of the Asian region. I know it is hard because we do exprience trauma from our own land but be proud. That's where God chose you to be. Dont worship white people and white people's institutions. Dont have a colonial mentality!!!!!!
Asians are EQUAL to white people. The East is EQUAL to the west. We have the same strengths and weaknesses. When you say "Oh BTS is better if their base is in the US" "Oh, BTS is better if they are not Kpop and won the Grammys." You are subtle worshipping white people, our colonizers and subtly saying to your viewers that "White is better than Asian". The USA is better than the Philippines, the US is better than Korea. That internalized racism. Im afraid you might have it. I too have thought white people, Americans are better than Filipinos and when I was young, I wished I was white. But I learned to love my own skin and love my motherland! I learned not to belittle my motherland and my continent!
I don't know why Army continue to feel Scammys are relevant for BTS, that award doesn't deserve BTS attention anymore from that lying, racist, corrupt and PettyAss country just like their now newly elected president! To me American born Asians are safe for the industry or grammys the money and those behind the scenes of these artists are american companies, management, production companies, caterers etc. As long as the money stays here they are ok. The point is the industry here abd in SK is corrupt period. No one should be shocked. After burning sun and all this yall still surprised?
Yall over estimate BTS reach. Yes there are millions of fans. There is a gap between the tyoe of music that is huge now no matter the genre from SK vs America. Plus casual fans dont really listen to BTS or even solo stuff radio, marketing and advertising has a lot to donwith it. I love BTS but average music fans dont know who they are besides butter abd dynamite

Kpop does not need a Grammy. the Grammy needs KPOP. If you remember, if it hads not because of BTS, the audience would have been nil, without BTS. We all knowo most of those who win the Grammys are “artists” that have compromised their ethics by signing with Hollywood bs. We want our artists to be safe. They are already above any western artist of today…. forget trying to get such an idiotic grammy, it’s nothing, it simply shows who kissed who’s butt.

I don’t think Grammys will ever let any full Asian Artist win the major awards, even if they are the most deserving . I have always thought they will always favor the western world artist and those who embrace their being of a western or american . No need to look forward even in the future, thats just how this award
giving body works. What needs to be done I guess is to have our own Grammys in Asia, and become a more credible award giving body in the music industry, giving acknowledgment to artist and music that are contextual artistic and creative, be whatever continent you come from. I personally don’t want BTS to be dragged in any issues about Grammys, they are just being used in any way. We all know what BTS ‘ worth and I don’t think winning or not getting an acknowledgment from this giving body will change what they have achieved.
BTS used to never go to afterparties, but have done so recently in their solo era. I don't like it. It's dangerous. But they don't seem to stay for long, at least! They need to stay safe but I also know that they know what they are doing. I trust them not to get sucked in. There is no happiness there! 💜

I stopped watching the scammies long time ago… last i watched MJ was still alive… didn’t miss it one bit… didn’t even know it’s on until it shows up on my fyp… 😅
Obviously BTS comeback once discharged will be a group effort w/ tour. Whether it’s more about focus on solo projects w/ group tracks, perhaps one new single added or a new album. I think it’s important for them to not ignore the solo projects and tour sooner w/ a new song or two. But ultimately, K-pop idols after 10 yrs are able to live more of a normal life. They are in their 30’s so need to be able to date, live out of the fishbowl. Am expecting once they tour post discharge, they’ll have proper time to work on a new album. Prob tour again after that album but able to focus on living life & solo ventures.
Why didn't you mention the actual reason why they don't get nominated? It's really simple honestly, they don't even come close to any popular American artist in terms of record salea, streams, ect why should BTS be nominated over artist's who have better numbers by every metric? Where did this entitlement thinking come from?

There are the Latin Grammys and they also have Latin Music categories in the American Grammys as well. So the Academy could very well create an Asian Grammy and also create Asian categories in the American Grammys as well. As a matter of fact, the Grammys add and discard categories all the time.
V’s album Layover may have been submitted to the pop, r&b and contemporary jazz categories and was just not nominated. The same with RM. MAMA and MMA also sidelined RM and V’s albums as well.
What kind of substance of lyrics is Watermelon Sugar talking about oral s*x?!🤷🏽♂️ Harry Styles entire album was fluff music and it won Album of the Year over Beyoncé’s socially impactful album. These things are almost always subjective. Music is art. There’s no way to be completely objective about it.
Bruno Mars and Olivia Rodrigo was born and raised in the American culture whereas BTS members were born and raised in the Korean(East Asian) culture. There is a big difference.
Bang PD is primarily writing music for TXT, Enhypen and &Team these days. Also, SVT writes their own music.
Black Pink has made extraordinary inroads into the Western market. They work with A Class artists all the time. Also, Stray Kids are forging a path as well thanks to BTS.
Bang PD is the major shareholder of HYBE and the Chairman of the Board. Although he has great influence, there are others making business decisions for HYBE as well. Bang does not operate or make unilateral decisions in a vacuum.
I think there should be a HYBE MUSIC FESTIVAL featuring HYBE and subsidiaries artists and invite special guests like G-Dragon and Taeyang, NCT, Stray Kids, Black Pink, and other prominent artists to participate! It could be a week-long Summer festival with BTS headlining on a weekend day.

To be fair, Chris Brown and Rihanna were teens when this incident occurred. And while I don’t advocate for a male to ever put his hands on a female like that, I do encourage females not to put their hands on a male like that unless they expect to get treated in-kind. This is what happened with Chris and Ro. She hit him first, admittedly so.
Grammy is outdated, biased and not worthy to anyone watch it. They are so frightened of BTS.
They deserve a special ‘lifetime achievement to-date’ recognition award!
I would like to lock the entire Recording Academy in a room, blindfold them and then force them to listen to JK's Golden album. It is 100% in English and should not even be considered K-pop. Then I would ask them if the Artist deserves a Grammy without telling them it is a BTS member. My guess is that he would have votes because I guarantee you that none of them have even listened to any of BTS's solo albums. How the Grammy's get away with this BS is beyond me. Even the Oscars voted a Korean film, Parasite" for Best Picture.
It is not just American award shows that are rigged. Look at the winners of The Fact Music Awards in Korea recently and you will see that it was rigged. It honestly should be named The Rookie show based on all the 5th gen winners. I can't even understand how New Jeans received awards when they didn't even put out an album. BTS solos, Stray Kids, TXT, Seventeen, Riize and even IU were snubbed!
Namjoon wrote 'Sundance' on his temple bell, and he's getting the accolades for his films. He's achieving exactly what he wanted. Listen to BTS. TRUST BTS! I wish BTS wins a Grammy, without much effort, as OT7! Naturally, organically. 💜
