In a world of secrets and shadows, the truth is the only weapon.
Walter Williams (Brian Donlevy), a successful businessman, has his idyllic life shattered by his wife Irene’s (Helen Walker) infidelity and murder plot with her lover, Jim Torrence (Tony Barrett). When the plan backfires and Jim dies in the attempt, Walter, presumed dead, escapes to a small town and starts a new life with mechanic Marsha Peters (Ella Raines). As romance blooms, Walter returns to San Francisco to clear his name, but new accusations from Irene force him to prove his innocence with the help of Lt. Tom Quincy (Charles Coburn).

Some wonderful classic actors.
Ernest Laszlo is one of the great noir cinematographers. He shot Kiss Me Deadly, one of my 8 all time favorite noirs.
