And now he's almost forgotten, I've never even heard any of my grandparents talk about this character. My grandfather might have read some of it, but he had dementia for the last decade of his life so who knows.
This is a reminder that even the most popular things can be forgotten with time, I wonder how long characters like Luke Skywalker will last into the future.
N3 the alluded to grandson of Nick Carter, also named Nick Carter, or Nick Carter Killmaster, was the super spy version mentioned and had well over 200 different paperback stories released from the 60s to the 80s, which also puts him up there as one of the most prolific of the Bond type spy creations.
"He could sell sand to an Arab, and snow to an Eskimo." As a pre-pubescent boy, I could not get enuff of my oder brothers' collection of novels. Nick Carter was a better lady's man than James Bond. "Treat a lady like a whore, and a whore, like a lady."
I consider myself a pretty big comic book fan and the super hero in general. Not bragging but I know some things. Never heard of Nick Carter. Well of course his time in the boy band but not his detective stuff.
ABC was going to have a series called the Great detectives I believe and they were going to have a revolving roster much like the NBC mystery movies. One of the characters was going to be Nick Carter as portrayed by Robert Conrad but they didn't get enough interest in the pilot movies to do the series
