The story follows Rosalind, the daughter of Duke Senior, who, after her father’s duchy is usurped by her uncle Duke Frederick, is banished from the court.
Along with her cousin Celia and the court jester Touchstone, she escapes to the Forest of Arden, disguised as a man under the alias Ganymede.
There, she encounters Orlando, a young man also in exile, whom she secretly loves.
In her disguise, Rosalind tests Orlando’s affections and explores the complexities of love and identity.
